James Venney

About

A third-generation Florida native, James brings a diversified background in real estate finance and private banking.  He has served as Senior Vice President and Director of Residential Lending at TotalBank, went on to open the Miami Dade County market for loanDepot Retail, and currently serves as an Executive Loan Officer at Rocket Mortgage. Over the course of his career, James has personally originated more than $800 million in residential loans and has led teams responsible for originating more than $2.3 billion in residential and commercial loans across the South Florida market.

His professional history also includes founding Elements Capital Funding, a traditional mortgage lender, and LuxLev Capital, a boutique fund that provided private loans in the aftermath of the 2008 financial crisis. Having built his career across several community banks, James continues to serve the real estate community by helping domestic and international buyers alike navigate residential purchase and refinance transactions and achieve the American Dream.

A recognized thought leader in the South Florida residential mortgage space, James regularly speaks at industry events and serves on expert panels. He is deeply involved in industry leadership through the Florida Association of Mortgage Professionals (FAMP), where he is a past President of the Miami Chapter, previously served on the FAMP Executive Committee as State Secretary, and currently serves the West Coast of Florida as Government Affairs Captain. He also continues to serve FAMP as a Continuing Education instructor.

Outside of his professional life, James is the proud father of a 18-year-old daughter and an avid golfer.
